One of the biggest problems is with cheap HID headlight kits. This is because they aren’t actually xenon bulbs. What you get instead is a halogen bulb with a blue tinted lens that is supposed to replicate the color that is produced by the arc in the HID headlights. This is technically illegal because it’s defined as applying an emergency color to your lighting instruments and that’s a big problem.

If you want to get HID headlight kits for your cars then you need to spend the extra money and get something good. Go for the best one you can buy because you know that you are getting what you paid for and that you are not putting yourself at risk for some serious fines.

If you have already installed some HID headlight kits in your vehicle then there is a pretty simple test to check if you got ripped off. Take a white sheet of paper and hold it in front of the headlights. If he paper turns blue then you got a halogen bulb with a blue tint and not a real HID headlight kit. You need to take it back to the store you bought it from and complain. If they don’t want to help you then you need to take it up with the manufacturer.
